Data Deletion
Effective June 1, 2026.
StreetLore has no accounts and no logins. We don’t collect your name, email, or phone number. Everything we store is tied to an anonymous identifier generated on your device, so your data is essentially device-scoped. Here’s how to remove it.
1. Uninstall the app
Deleting StreetLore from your phone removes the data stored on the device itself — your preferences, saved places, walk history, and any cached narrations and audio. This is the fastest and most complete way to clear your own data.
2. Request deletion of server-side data
To erase any session or preference data we hold that’s tied to your device identifier, email hello@streetlore.app with the subject “Data deletion request.” Because there is no account to look you up by, it helps if you email from the address you’d like us to reach you at and tell us roughly when and where you used the app. We will delete the associated data and confirm within 30 days.
3. Reset your advertising identifier
With your consent, StreetLore shares app-install/measurement events and your advertising identifier with Meta for attribution. You can clear or reset that identifier at any time in your device settings:
- Android — Settings → Privacy → Ads → “Delete advertising ID” (or “Reset advertising ID”).
- iOS — Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking (turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track”).
Data already shared with Meta is governed by Meta’s own data policy and retention.
What we delete, and what we retain
- Preferences & session data tied to your device — deleted on request (step 2) or when you uninstall (step 1).
- Server-side request logs — automatically discarded within 30 days, with or without a request.
- Party-mode session logs — discarded when the party ends.
- Cached narrations & audio — these describe public places and are not personal to you, so they may be retained to serve other users.
